Jackson County man sues step-dad for mother’s death

BELLEVUE, Iowa – The son of a Jackson County woman is suing his step father who is charged in his mother’s shooting death earlier this year. Joshua L. Close recently filed a lawsuit against Christopher E. Prichard, 56, of Bellevue, alleging the wrongful death of Close’s mother, Angela Prichard, 55. Christopher Prichard is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Angela Prichard, who was found “dead from an apparent gunshot wound” at her place of work on October 8. He has pleaded not guilty. The woman’s son is requesting a jury trial in the case, court documents state.
