Woman serving time for ‘love triangle murder’ involving former Chicago Bear Shaun Gayle, wants new trial

The attorney for the woman serving time for a ‘love triangle murder’ involving former Chicago Bear Shaun Gayle, wants a new trial. Marni Yang was convicted nine years ago of murdering the pregnant girlfriend of Gayle, who she also was romantically involved with. Jed Stone recently filed a motion in Lake County Circuit Court asking a judge to reopen the investigation, saying Gayle’s alibi doesn’t hold up. The Lake County State’s Attorney’s office has sought to dismiss Yang’s petition for a new trial. Yang’s next court date is set for Jan. 12.
