Judge rules Asbury man acussed of 1990’s Bosnian war crimes will not be deported

An Asbury man will remain a U.S. citizen after a judge ruled that prosecutors failed to prove he was involved in paramilitary activities and committed human rights violations during the Bosnian War in the 1990s. The Bosnia native, who has lived in the U.S. since 1998 and became a U.S. citizen in 2004, said he was happy to see the end of what his attorneys described as a “nightmare” for the family over the past three years. He became a legal permanent resident in 1999 and later a U.S. citizen, according to a press release from his attorneys.
