Dubuque man who admitted to setting fire at ex-girlfriend’s residence sentenced

A Dubuque man who admitted to setting a fire at his ex-girlfriend’s residence has been sentenced to probation. Timothy E. Scott, 54, recently pleaded guilty in Dubuque County District Court to felony arson charges in connection to the incident in which police say a woman called 911 after seeing a fire near a set of wooden stairs next to her Rhomberg Ave. address July 30. Documents state that the steps led to the apartment of a woman who had broken up with Scott hours earlier. He was ordered to five years of probation.
