A Dubuque man serving a life sentence in prison has died due to COVID19. Gene E. Dryer, who had other medical conditions, died Saturday, likely due to complications related to the coronavirus, however, according to a press release issued by the Iowa Department of Corrections. The release states that the 72 year old was taken to the hospital from the Clarinda Correctional Facility when medical staff noticed his condition beginning to worsen.
