COVID19 vaccines arrived in Dubuque ahead of schedule

COVID19 vaccines arrived in Dubuque ahead of schedule. A shipment of 195 vials of the first approved COVID-19 vaccine unexpectedly arrived in Dubuque Thursday morning, several days ahead of the scheduled delivery to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital. Finley’s longtime house supervisor, who has worked at the hospital since 1969, was first in line to get the injection. Finley prioritized front-line clinical workers for vaccination. Some nonclinical staff who are exposed to patients, such as the hospital’s chaplain, also were vaccinated Thursday. MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center also received a shipment of the vaccine yesterday.
