COVID death tolls rise as state changes reporting method

The State of Iowa is changing the way they record COVID-19-related deaths and that has contributed to an uptick in the death tolls in some Iowa counties, including in Dubuque County where14 people died in one day. Statewide, the number of deaths increased by a little over 200 bringing the total to more than 2,900 Tuesday.

Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, which had been cleared of outbreaks, was put back on the list Tuesday. Iowa now is reporting outbreaks at 10 facilities in the five-county region.
