70-year-old Davenport murder murder suspect died from COVID-19

Iowa (AP) – State prison officials say a 70-year-old man imprisoned for his role in a 1981 Davenport murder has died from COVID-19 and other health issues. David Streets, who died Sunday, was serving a life sentence in the death of Mark Webb and the kidnapping of another man.


Three Iowa State Prisons are battling Covid Outbreaks. More than 1,100 inmates and at least 100 staff in the prison system currently have the virus, marking an over 40% Infection Rate, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections. The worst outbreak is at the Rockwell City facility, where 60 percent of inmates have Covid. Half of the prisoners in Anamosa have the virus. And, the Iowa Department of Corrections website shows nearly 42 percent of inmates in the Clarinda prison have Covid.
